“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23
There is a connection between the heart, the mouth and the mountain that every believer in Christ who endeavors to walk by faith should understand. The Word of God tells us that if we are to please God, we must walk by faith and not by sight. (Hebrews 11:6) In the above passage of scripture there are three elements that have a unique relationship. As Jesus describes that relationship, He teaches us a fundamental principle of faith that we must master in order to remove barriers.
The heart, in this scripture is the subconscious mind not the spirit. The difference between the two is my spirit communicates and receives revelation from God and accepts it readily. My subconscious, or more specifically my conscience, is where my belief system is stored. This is where satan uses doubt to attack what I believe. His attack is focused on the subconscious because it is from there that forces are released to change my external circumstances. My subconscious also attracts the manifested promises God has already given me in the spirit realm. “…for out of the heart flows the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 In other words, out of the heart flows the forces that governs the circumstances and situations that surround me. Those forces are released through words.
Your mouth is the tool God gave us to release what’s in the heart. Your words are the medium of exchange in three realms. In the natural realm words are designed to communicate information. With the soulish realm words are designed to produce pictures in our mind, encouragement or discouragement to our will, and/or feelings to our emotions. But in the spirit realm our words are designed to release power. God released words in creation to bring light to a dark and chaotic world. He also used words to destroy corruption in the form of Sodom & Gomorrah. Jesus used words to release life to Lazarus’ dead body, He also used words to curse an unproductive fig tree. So it is with you. Your words can crush a person’s spirit, or bring healing to a broken body, or start a war. Your words are the link to your good life (1Peter 3:10), your deliverance (Proverbs 6:2) and your angelic entourage (Psalm 103:20). Your words are powerful enough to move a mountain when the conditions are right.
The mountain represents the obstacle, trial, or temptation that stands in the way between you and the thing that God has promised you. If God promised you healing, and He did, then sickness is your mountain. If He promised you prosperity, and He did, then poverty is your mountain. If He promised you, well… you get the picture. You need your mountain! The purpose for your mountain is to examine to see if what’s coming out of your mouth is what’s in your heart. It gages your faith because if the two don’t match, the mountain doesn’t move. Words are only faith filled if the heart believes. The moment the mountain detects faith filled words, then power is release in the spirit realm to dismantle that obstacle in your life. So embrace it. Use it to ensure that your heart, mouth, and mountain connection is in your favor.
