“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
Lord what do I do next? Unlike the secular world we submit to Jesus as he is the Lord of our lives. In His Word, God promised us divine guidance as He walks with us along our path of destiny. There are places we are to be, problems we are to solve, and different seasons of our lives that God knows of in advance. You are assigned by God to be in a specific place, to benefit a specific people, for a specific season. That assignment comes from God, and your ability to connect and receive from Him is vital to your purpose.
Your assignment contains a specific place. Places matter. Jesus told over 500 disciples to wait in Jerusalem until the promise of the Holy Spirit is fulfilled, yet only 120 were in the Upper Room to receive Him. There is a place that is custom designed for you. In that place there is purpose, prosperity and peace even in the midst of storms. In that place your gifts are recognized and developed, you are celebrated more than tolerated, and your passion take off and provide energy, creativity and life.
In that place is the right environment for you.
Your environment is important. It contains the atmosphere that determines what will live and what will die inside you. Your environment will expose you to things that will awaken desire, reveal weaknesses, and nurture dreams.
Your assignment is to a specific people. Some of these people need your gifts and talents as you are the answer to their problem. You provide them with services, solutions, and support that without you there would be a void in their life. They can’t tell their story without mentioning your name. Some people are assigned to you and without them your destiny is hindered, delayed or denied. They provide you with godly wisdom, support and love. Appreciate them. Others will provide you with irritation, pressure, and pain. Appreciate them as well because every plant needs a little dirt to grow!
Your assignment has seasons.
The scriptures tell us that there is a time for every purpose (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Wisdom is recognizing what season you are in and adjusting you behavior accordingly. The places and people that you’re assigned to in this season will be dead weight and a hindrance to you in the next. God knows your seasons and will lead you through them as we connect with Him.
Finally your assignment is where God anoints you.
One of the beauties of being born again is that we have access to an anointing, the power of God that helps us perform at a level above our ability. God anoints you in your assignment so that He can get the glory from your good works. When you are in the right place, doing the right thing, you can expect God to put a super on your natural.
